The land and property research conveys researchers, practitioners and policy makers on land from across the globe. The 2026 land and property research was conducted from April 29 to May 01, 2026 at World Bank Headquarter in Washington DC. In this conference, one of the two project outputs, Edu4Geo project, was presented to the participants of the conference. Accordingly, two papers were presented by coordinators of each institute of four partners universities. These are:
- Advancing Geomatics Education in Ethiopia to Foster Sustainable Development
- Impact of Land Registration and Certification on the Peri-urban Women Land Rights in Amhara National Regional State of Ethiopia
In the first paper was intended to communicate the project objectives, deliverables and main challenges of the project. Accordingly, the progress report on project overview, implementation challenges, and the project alignment with SDGs was presented and the good experience shared to the World community.

The second paper is on a research study of the land rights of peri-urban women. In general, farmers in the peri-urban areas are victims of urban sprawl since peri-urban land is under continuous transformation to urban land use types. In such hot-spot areas, to have a study on the land rights situation of women is essential. Accordingly, the peri-urban women land rights security situation, their decision making power, access to credit and the main challenges were studied taking Bahir Dar and Debre Markos peri-urban study areas.

The conference expenses of the four-project team members (two from Austria and two from Ethiopia) were covered by the Austrian Development Cooperation via APPEAR funding. At last, the project team members conducted the site visiting focusing to the Washington Monument and the urban fabrics of some parts of the fancy Washington DC city. The main area of visit was from George Washington (the first American President) to Abrham linken Monument. As seen in one of the above photos, it has compiling landscape. The conference was completed successfully addressing its objectives and communicating the project outputs to the global scientific community of land professionals.
