Capacity building program for land administration experts at different levels and land administration committees is proceeding on the right way as planned in EduLAND2 project. In 2018, two tailor-made trainings on technical courses for land administration experts starting from the federal level have been delivered. The capacity building program of EduLAND2 project also extends to farmers with a special focus on land administration committees. The first phase training for land administration committees is conducted from September 01-02/2018. In this training, 106 land administration committees have been participated.
These are from East Gojjam administrative zone four weredas and 34 kebeles. The training focused on the newly revised land administration proclamation 252/2007, and the subsequent regulation 159/2018 and directive. In these two days training, the participation of the farmers both in raising questions and forwarding solutions was really impressive. The communal grazing land encroachment and invasion was the very serious problem and discussion issue by farmers. Those communal fallow lands being used by many adjacent kebeles are becoming source of conflict and are being damaged at a severe extent which the land administration organization and administrative bodies at different levels should give high attention. Otherwise, in the near future, grazing communal lands will be a history which adversely endangers the livestock husbandry sector of the economy.
