| Grant project | 1. Preparation of project document and securing APPEAR preparatory funding on ‘Implementation and Enhancement of Academic Land Administration Education and Training in Ethiopia’, 2015. It is academic partnership project with the project fund of 15000Euros. Its main objective is to enable partner institutions understand each other’s institutional environment and to elaborate SMART project proposal. 2. Preparation of EduLAND2 Project and submitting to APPEAR, Austria and securing fund on ‘Implementation of Academic Land Administration Education in Ethiopia for Supporting Sustainable Development, EduLAND2’. It was four years grant project with a lump sum of 490 000 Euros. The Main objective was to improve the livelihood of Ethiopian society by increasing the competence of experts working in the field of land administration. By this project support, the Institute of Land Administration has been opened officially at Debre Markos University and main teaching-learning materials had been fulfilled. The project contributed a lot both in long term study programs and in the short-term capacity building activities by training experts engaged in land sector from federal up to the lower administrative level. Upon the successful accomplishment of the work packages and planned activities of this academic partnership project, I applied for APPEAR advanced academic partnership program. 3. Preparation of advanced academic partnership project proposal and submitting to APPEAR Funding Agency. The title of the project is ‘Implementation of Academic Geomatics Education in Ethiopia for Supporting Sustainable Development, Edu4Geo’.It is three years grant project with 390 0000 Euros which started in March 2023 based on the results of EduLAND2 project and designed to upgrade the competence of undergraduate students through implementing a master curriculum on Geomatics to make students fit for leading positions in the public and private sector of land administration and geodata-management, as well as for teaching and research activities at academic institutions. It has also a focus on delivering tailor-made 6 training programs for land administration experts engaged from federal to lower administrative level. 4. Preparation of project proposal on ‘Land Information for Land Management/ Li4LaLaM’, and submission to ERASMUS+ capacity building program of EU. The project is selected for funding in 2022 and the work is launched starting at the beginning of 2023. It is three years grant project with a lump sum of 708 000 Euros and it is being implemented by the consortium effort of eight Universities both from Ethiopian and European partners. The main objective of this academic project is provision of innovative and state-of-the art academic education on the acquisition, analysis, modeling and visualization of land related data for students and professionals to which has be delivered online, face-to face and/or hybrid. I am the national coordinator of the project since responsible for its implementation in four Ethiopian Universities (Debre Markos University, Bahir Dar University, Woldia University and Addis Abeba University). 5. Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University (HSWT) goes international: Internationalizing Best Practices (Haw.International); (Module B). The project “HSWT goes international: Internationalize Best Practices” as part of the program “HAW.International” (Module B) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funded by the federal ministry of education and research (MBMF) builds on the existing successful internationalization activities and international best practice examples from the universities. This is academic project being implemented as a consortium effort of five universities. I am the contact person of this project representing Debre Markos University. 6. AfricaUniNet Founding member: AfricaUniNet is an alliance between Autrian and African Universities. Debre Markos University has been a founding member of AfricaUniNet as a result of my unreserved efforts and making the university to be known in different projects |
